Conducting

Since 2019, I’ve had the huge privilege of being musical director of the Festival Singers, a wonderful choir based in Newlands, Wellington. They’re a warm, inviting group with beautiful voices, and together we’ve had a great time producing concerts, annual workshops, and an excellent recording. If you’d like to join, it’s absolutely the most fun you could have on a Monday night – get in touch with me to learn more, or have a look at the choir website

Here’s a documentary about the recording we made in 2020 – a truly rewarding and exciting process.

“Ingrid has a warm engaging style as a conductor. She makes learning (sometimes challenging pieces of music) fun & interesting. Highly recommended to any choir or musical performer!”

Alex, choir member

“With Ingrid’s encouragement we have offered several Saturday workshops for singers that have been well supported by singers from other choirs, as well as our own members. She is always looking and planning ahead to the next 3 or 4 concerts and events. The programmes Ingrid puts together for our concerts are always varied, interesting and well received by our audiences!”

Philip, choir member and committee secretary

“Along with exceptional musicianship, her excellent preparation makes for stimulating and productive rehearsals.  Her choice of repertoire is eclectic and satisfying. Her quirky and cheerful positivity keeps us motivated and loving our time together. She has created a warm and committed community of singers who enjoy parties as well as performances. Never a dull moment.”
